"This painting “I am His” has been one of my favorites for a really long time. I painted it for a group of young women for their Young Women in Excellence program in 2017. Their theme was “I am His” and Their leaders wanted something special for each girl to take home so they could know that they are important to their Savior.
I wanted to paint something tender and personal. I love how Christ is holding her hand with his other hand on her back gently walking along side her. I love the trust she has in her Savior to walk along side Him knowing that with Him she can overcome all things.
I wanted those sweet girls to feel the love that Christ has for them individually. I hope they felt that then and now and I hope you feel it as you look at this painting.
This painting doesn’t just represent girls and women…. It also represents boys and men. We are All Christs. We are All love by him.
He is walking with all of us individually. His hands are there to gently love and lead each of us if we choose to take them.
I truly hope that you can feel peace and hope in this painting. I hope it helps you feel closer to the Savior." -Kate Lee
